Brushstrokes, Not Spots
Colocasia White Tiger carries its variegation as broad, streaky patches of dark green swept across a cream-to-white base, more like brushstrokes than the fine speckling seen on some other white Colocasia. Each leaf splits unevenly between the two colors, sometimes leaning mostly white with just a few green streaks near the base, other times carrying green across nearly half the blade. The petioles and leaf margins stay pale, keeping the whole plant reading light even where a leaf leans heavily green. Leaves reach a substantial size at maturity, broad and heart-shaped with a glossy surface, giving the pattern real presence rather than reading as a small accent.
A Bolder Ratio of White to Green
Most variegated Colocasia use white or cream as an accent against a mostly green leaf. White Tiger flips that ratio: white is the dominant color here, with green working as the accent instead. That reversal is part of what makes a mature clump stand out in a garden bed built mostly around solid dark foliage, it reads as bright and pale rather than dramatic and dark.
Why So Much White Still Works
White leaf tissue lacks chlorophyll and can't photosynthesize, which is normally the limiting factor on how much variegation a plant can carry before it struggles to sustain itself. What helps here is distribution: rather than being confined to one small sliver, the green on White Tiger's leaves tends to spread as multiple streaks across the blade rather than clustering in a single patch, giving the plant more evenly distributed working tissue even when the overall white ratio is high.
Protecting the Palest Leaves
Give it bright, indirect light rather than harsh direct sun, the white portions of the leaf are more prone to scorching than the green. Keep the soil consistently moist to boggy, typical for the genus, and maintain warm, humid conditions for the best leaf quality.
A Striking Choice for a Shaded Bed
Colocasia White Tiger works well planted where its pale foliage can brighten a shadier corner rather than competing with brighter light and darker neighbors. ThaiFusion Botanica propagates and ships this variety directly from our nursery in Thailand, with a phytosanitary certificate included on every international order.

Our photos are representative examples of the plants we offer. You will receive a healthy plant of similar size and quality unless the product description clearly states that the listing is for the exact plant shown.
For selected products, actual photos of the individual plant are provided. These listings will be clearly identified, and you will receive the exact plant pictured. The date the photos were taken will also be stated. If the photos are older, you are welcome to contact us to request updated images before purchasing.
Decorative pots and accessories shown in product photos are for display purposes only and are not included unless otherwise stated.
As our plants are living products, natural variation should be expected. Differences in size, leaf count, coloration, variegation, veining, and growth habit may occur depending on the season, age of the plant, environmental conditions, and normal biological variation. These natural differences are not considered defects and are not grounds for complaints, returns, or refunds.
All sales are final once plants have been shipped. Refunds or replacements for plants that arrive dead on arrival (DOA) are available only when the conditions outlined in our Returns, Refunds & Replacement Policy have been met. Please refer to that policy for full details.

Plant Care
-
Light
Colocasias thrive in bright light and can tolerate several hours of direct morning or late afternoon sun. In cooler climates, full sun encourages vigorous growth and larger leaves, while in hotter regions, light afternoon shade helps prevent leaf scorch. For light colored variegation varieties, they thrive in partial shade and harsh direct sunlight may burn the leaves.
-
Temperature
Ideal temperatures range from 20–32°C (68–90°F). Growth slows significantly below 15°C (59°F), and frost can damage or kill the foliage. In cooler climates, tubers can be lifted and stored over winter.
-
Water
Colocasias are moisture-loving plants that perform best in consistently damp soil. Unlike many aroids, they tolerate wet conditions exceptionally well and can even be grown in shallow water or along pond edges. Never allow the potting mix to dry out completely during the growing season.
-
Humidity
Although Colocasias appreciate high humidity, they are more adaptable than many tropical plants. A humidity level of 50–80% encourages lush, healthy foliage, but established plants generally tolerate average household humidity.
-
Potting Mix
Use a rich, moisture-retentive yet well-aerated potting mix. A blend containing coco coir or peat moss, compost, perlite, and pine bark provides excellent drainage while retaining the moisture Colocasias prefer. Ensure that your coco based products are free from tannin.
-
Fertilizer
Colocasias are heavy feeders during active growth. Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–3 weeks, or use slow-release 16-16-16 Osmocote according to the manufacturer's instructions to support continuous production of large, vibrant leaves.
