The original certificate is securely attached to the outside of the parcel for inspection by customs and agricultural authorities.
Export Compliance
ThaiFusion Botanica complies with applicable Thai regulations governing the export of live plants and tissue culture.
Where required, plants are inspected prior to export and accompanied by an official phytosanitary certificate issued by the relevant Thai authorities. Every international order includes a complimentary phytosanitary certificate to facilitate customs clearance and meet the import requirements of eligible destinations.
While we are committed to preparing each shipment in accordance with Thailand's export regulations, import requirements vary by country. Customers are responsible for ensuring that the plants they purchase may be legally imported into their destination and for obtaining any required import permits unless otherwise arranged through our specialist courier partners.
Import Requirements
Plant import regulations vary between countries.
Some destinations require an import permit before plants may be imported. Customers are responsible for ensuring that plant imports are permitted under their local regulations unless otherwise stated.
If your country is unavailable at checkout or products appear as Out of Stock, this may indicate that:
- Import regulations have not yet been verified
- Additional permits are required
- Shipping restrictions currently apply
If your destination is not listed, please contact us before placing your order so we can verify available shipping methods and import requirements.

Packaging
Tissue Culture Plants
Tissue culture plants are shipped in sealed sterile culture bags as our standard packaging.
Customers may request glass culture jars for an additional USD 1 per jar. Jar shipments use agar medium to keep plants securely positioned during transport.
We generally recommend culture bags because they:
- Reduce shipping costs
- Lower the risk of breakage
- Occupy less shipping space
All tissue culture orders are packed inside insulated foam boxes with additional thermal insulation to help protect plants during transport.
Live Plants
All live plants, including Colocasias and fresh cuttings, are shipped:
- Bare-root
- Free of soil
- Carefully cleaned before export
Roots are wrapped with lightly moistened sphagnum moss or tissue paper to maintain humidity during transit.
Foam box packaging is available upon request.
Before every parcel is sealed, we photograph each plant to document its condition prior to shipment.
Damage, Transit Stress & Dead on Arrival (DOA)
Live plants are living organisms and may experience cosmetic stress during international shipping. Yellowing, blackened leaves, or minor foliage damage can occur due to extended transit times, temperature fluctuations, reduced light, or handling during transport. These symptoms are generally temporary, and plants with healthy roots, corms, bulbs, or rhizomes are typically able to recover.
If your order arrives with severe transit damage or a plant is dead on arrival (DOA), please contact us as soon as possible with an unedited unboxing video showing the condition of the plant upon opening.
