Packaging
Tissue Culture Plants
Our tissue culture plants are shipped in sealed plastic culture bags by default.
Customers may request glass jars for an additional USD 1 per jar. For jar shipments, agar will be used instead of gellan gum to keep the plant securely in place during transit.
We generally recommend plastic bags because they:
- Reduce shipping costs due to lower weight and compact size
- Minimize breakage risk compared to glass containers
All tissue culture orders are packed inside insulated foam boxes with additional aluminum foam lining for temperature protection.
Live Plants
All live plants, including fresh cuttings such as Colocasias, are shipped bare-rooted and free from soil.
Lightly moistened sphagnum moss or tissue paper will be wrapped around the roots to help maintain moisture during transit.
Foam box packaging is available upon request.
A photo of the plant will be taken before the parcel is sealed to document its condition prior to shipment.
Damage or DOA (Dead on Arrival)
Plants arriving with rotted or mushy roots, bulbs, or rhizomes may qualify for a refund or replacement.
Replacement shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
To qualify for a refund or replacement:
- An unedited video must be recorded while opening the parcel
- The plant’s condition must be clearly visible in the video
Please note that minor cosmetic damage during transit is common with live plants. Yellowing or blackened leaves may occur due to:
- Extended transit time
- Lack of light
- Temperature stress
- Mishandling during shipping
As long as the roots, bulbs, or rhizomes remain healthy and firm, the plant is typically recoverable.
If your plant experiences transit stress, please refer to our acclimatization and recovery guide.
