Colocasia Pink Wagyu
Colocasia Pink Wagyu
Couldn't load pickup availability
Colocasia Pink Wagyu carries huge leaves marbled in pink, cream, and green, the colours broken into irregular flecks and blocks across the blade, with magenta veins running out from the centre and dark maroon-purple stems underneath.
Marbled Like the Beef It Is Named After
Wagyu is known for its fine fat marbling, and the pink-and-cream flecking over green on this leaf is a close visual match, which is presumably the intent behind the name. The pattern is not a clean split or a vein-following band: it is camouflage-style patching, with pale areas dissolving into green at ragged edges.
Four Photos, Four Different Balances
The structure stays the same across every photo (marbled pink, cream, and green with pink-magenta veins), but the proportions change a lot. One leaf is mostly cream-pink with scattered green, another is mostly green with pink patches, a third carries bold saturated pink, and a fourth runs a dusty rose that is almost solid with a single green patch. Buy it expecting that range, not one fixed look.
Dark Stems Frame the Colour
The petioles are a deep maroon-purple, which sets off the pale leaf tissue and picks up the colour of the veins. It is visible in several of the photographed plants and is a steady feature even when the blade colour shifts.
A Trade Name With No Recorded Breeder
"Pink Wagyu" does not appear with a registered breeder or documented origin in the sources available to us, so we are treating it as a collector-market name. What is verified is the species, Colocasia esculenta, the taro grown across tropical Asia and the Pacific, selected here for the marbled pink colouring.
Filtered Light Protects the Pale Tissue
Pink and cream tissue carries little chlorophyll and scorches faster in harsh sun than green tissue does, so bright, filtered light suits it better than midday direct sun. Colocasia rewards steady moisture and regular feeding, and these are large leaves that need both to hold their size.
Ships as a Fresh Cutting, Marbling Develops With Growth
This cutting ships with bulb and petiole intact, leaves removed for transit and the bulb wrapped in moist sphagnum moss, rather than as the full leafed plant shown in these photos. Expect the first leaves to settle in smaller, with the full pink-and-cream marbling building as the plant establishes.
Add Colocasia Pink Wagyu to your collection for a large, marbled pink-cream-and-green leaf on dark stems, grown and shipped from ThaiFusion Botanica in Thailand.

Our photos are representative examples of the plants we offer. You will receive a healthy plant of similar size and quality unless the product description clearly states that the listing is for the exact plant shown.
For selected products, actual photos of the individual plant are provided. These listings will be clearly identified, and you will receive the exact plant pictured. Decorative pots and accessories shown in product photos are for display purposes only and are not included unless otherwise stated.
As our plants are living products, natural variation should be expected. Differences in size, leaf count, coloration, variegation, veining, and growth habit may occur depending on the season, age of the plant, environmental conditions, and normal biological variation. These natural differences are not considered defects and are not grounds for complaints, returns, or refunds.
All sales are final once plants have been shipped. Refunds or replacements for plants that arrive dead on arrival (DOA) are available only when the conditions outlined in our Returns, Refunds & Replacement Policy have been met. Please refer to that policy for full details.

Plant Care
-
Light
Colocasias thrive in bright light and can tolerate several hours of direct morning or late afternoon sun. In cooler climates, full sun encourages vigorous growth and larger leaves, while in hotter regions, light afternoon shade helps prevent leaf scorch. For light colored variegation varieties, they thrive in partial shade and harsh direct sunlight may burn the leaves.
-
Temperature
Ideal temperatures range from 20–32°C (68–90°F). Growth slows significantly below 15°C (59°F), and frost can damage or kill the foliage. In cooler climates, tubers can be lifted and stored over winter.
-
Water
Colocasias are moisture-loving plants that perform best in consistently damp soil. Unlike many aroids, they tolerate wet conditions exceptionally well and can even be grown in shallow water or along pond edges. Never allow the potting mix to dry out completely during the growing season.
-
Humidity
Although Colocasias appreciate high humidity, they are more adaptable than many tropical plants. A humidity level of 50–80% encourages lush, healthy foliage, but established plants generally tolerate average household humidity.
-
Potting Mix
Use a rich, moisture-retentive yet well-aerated potting mix. A blend containing coco coir or peat moss, compost, perlite, and pine bark provides excellent drainage while retaining the moisture Colocasias prefer. Ensure that your coco based products are free from tannin.
-
Fertilizer
Colocasias are heavy feeders during active growth. Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–3 weeks, or use slow-release 16-16-16 Osmocote according to the manufacturer's instructions to support continuous production of large, vibrant leaves.
