Why Collectors Seek It Out

The Venom lineage has built a following for a leaf shape and venation pattern that stops collectors mid-scroll: a drawn-out, shield-shaped blade with contrasting pale veins tracing across a dark green base. Its compact growth habit suits smaller collections.

Botanical Background

Alocasia "Venom" is grown as a rhizomatous herb in humid, shaded conditions typical of the genus. As with other Alocasia, the sap contains calcium oxalate crystals and should be kept away from pets and children.

Growing Conditions

Give it bright, indirect light, warmth between 18-27C (65-80F), a well-draining chunky aroid mix, and humidity above 60% where possible.
