Sinuata is Latin for wavy, and the species is known for an undulating leaf edge and a deeply quilted surface. At this small size the leaves are still rounded and smooth-edged; the wavy margin and quilting show up as the plant grows and the leaves get larger. The species is native to limestone forest in the Philippines, where it grows along rocky streams.

Unpotted on Arrival: Settling It In

Pot it into a chunky, fast-draining aroid mix, keep it warm and humid (60% or higher helps), and give it bright, indirect light. White leaf tissue has no chlorophyll to shield it, so keep it out of harsh direct sun. Like other Alocasia, the sap contains calcium oxalate crystals, so keep it away from pets and children.
