Alocasia Longiloba Albo Variegated pairs the elongated, arrow-shaped leaf of Alocasia longiloba with crisp white sectoral variegation, some leaves splitting nearly in half between deep green and pale cream, the pale midrib venation standing out sharply against both.
Why Collectors Seek It Out
Alocasia longiloba is part of a well-known species complex prized for its elongated, pointed leaf shape and prominent silvery venation, quite different from the broader-leaved Alocasia most collectors start with. The Albo Variegated form adds genuine, unstable white variegation on top of that distinctive shape.
Botanical Background
Alocasia longiloba is native across Southeast Asia, growing as an understory rhizomatous herb in humid, shaded forest conditions. As with other Alocasia, the sap contains calcium oxalate crystals and should be kept away from pets and children.
Growing Conditions
Give it bright, indirect light, warmth between 18-27C (65-80F), a well-draining chunky aroid mix, and humidity above 60% where possible, a covered setup or grow cabinet will noticeably improve leaf size and variegation clarity.
Live Plant, Bareroot
This listing is a bareroot division, shipped without soil in a size equivalent to a 3" pot, not the mature specimen pictured in the second photo. It carries the same genetics as the pictured reference plant and will develop the same leaf pattern and variegation as it establishes and matures.
